22 weeks

I am: 22 weeks!

Baby is the size of an: a papaya

Ive gained: 5 pounds according to my home scale this morning.. first thing in the morning. I'll get a definite Friday when I see the doctor and I'm sure it won't be just 5 pounds. I've been a little hungry lately :/

Maternity Clothes: Yes!

My mood: I'm starting to get tired easily again and my mind is racing about all of the things that we need to do before she gets here, but overall happy!

Gender: baby GIRL!!!

Cravings: sweets, nothing specific other than that

What I'm missing: this is not baby related but... blinds! We are still without blinds and it's so weird. The sign at Lowe's said they have a 5 day guarantee for installation, but that is if you order the blinds they have in the store. We had them custom made so of course it's "about" 2 weeks.
Highlights/ Exciting moments: I felt her kick from the outside! Darrell still hasn't felt her kick and he's getting discouraged, but hopefully he'll be able to in the next few weeks. She is moving all of the time and I can tell when she's awake. It's pretty much consistent daily... 7:30, 3:00 & 8:30- ish.

Complaints: I hate PAINT! Why are there 593920 shades of the same color but none of them are exactly what I want? ugh

Wedding ring: Still on!

Here I am today at 22 weeks. I'm looking a little rough, but it's all I could pull together today.

TWENTY ONE

I am: 21 weeks!

Baby is the size of an: a pomegranate

Ive gained: I have no idea. I haven't been keeping up, but I'm guessing with all the eating I've been doing it's probably increased a bit.

Maternity Clothes: Yep, pretty much all of the time now.
My mood: happy!!

Gender: baby GIRL!!!

Cravings: sweets and carbs still

What I'm missing: not too much this week, I'm happy!!

Highlights/ Exciting moments: Baby related, we ended up registering at BRU and Target, and won't do one at BBB. We found bedding we like much more at Target, so we took the original set off of BRU.  Non baby related: we closed on the house and have moved in!!

Complaints: I'm still getting a little sore if I don't change positions often, but nothing unbearable.

Wedding ring: Still on!

and yep, that's my new tub in my new bathroom!!

Home Is Where The Heart Is

We closed on our new house this morning!! This is what it looked like when we first saw it...

and this is what it looked like today.. finished! The sunny sky helps a little too :)

We heard nothing but how awful closing was going to be, but I have to say ours was smooth and easy. The only change that was made was done so over a week ago and that was to move our closing date up. We were originally set to close Monday, but because it's MLK and the banks are closed, we moved it up. I was stressing at first (yes, over 3 days) but it really worked out because we have an extra weekend and Monday to move and we'll be out of apartment much earlier than planned.

I do have to admit that we weren't exactly looking for this 'type' of house. We've never really been huge fans of siding or the cookie-cutter neighborhoods but there was something about this house and neighborhood that we love. I know what it was about the house... the floorplan, specifically the closet in the master! It's big and open and has everything on our "wanted" list (formal dining room, four bedrooms, upgraded appliances, double garage, etc etc). We never thought when we moved to Wilmington we'd be able to get so much house within our budget.

As you can see, we were a little excited. Well I was and made Darrell pose for this picture. He was too, but was just ready to get started moving and not stop for pictures. Oh well, I win!

Now it's time to start decorating. You'd think when you basically build a brand new house, it'd be all ready to go. But there's painting to do, a nursery to set up, furniture to buy to match my Pinterest inspired home (bahaha, we'll see how that turns out)!

Nursery

This nursery deal has been super stressful. I had an idea in mind, Darrell had other ideas. Since when does he even care about sheets and stuff? But then it was kind of cute how into it he was for the baby :)  Darrell liked the more themey, baby-ish look and I was looking for something...totally opposite; clean, simple, slightly modern but not too much with a touch of vintage (I don't ask a lot!).  I was totally overwhelmed when we were registering the first day. We saw this and both (kinda) liked it so we put it on the registry.

But then we were at Target last night and Darrell says "what about this one?" It was perfect, exactly what I was looking for... simple, girly, not too "baby". The furniture will add in a little bit of that vintage feel.

I LOVELOVELOVE it (did I say that?) and I can't wait to get into the new house, get everything set up, and start decorating! I'm not 100% sure on paint yet, but it won't be pink.. it'll most likely be a light shade of either yellow, purple, or blue. We are still going to use some of the baby animal accessories that we bought when we decided on the original set.

We have this bird picture with a similiar butterfly that has more purple. We loved the four little squares that make a scene, but they were all beat up at the Hobby Lobby in Fayetteville, so we're on the hunt!

Half baked!

I can't believe I'm about to do a TWENTY week update. That means I'm halfway there, give or take depending on when the little lady decides to make her appearance!
I am: 20 weeks!

Baby is the size of an: a banana

Ive gained: 5 pounds according to my home scale.

Maternity Clothes: I can't quit ordering. I realized when I shopped early on that I only got "winter" clothes. We haven't had too much of  a winter so now I have to keep shopping, oh darn :)

My mood: a little whiney I think.

Gender: baby GIRL!!!

Cravings: sweets
What I'm missing: comfort. I'm starting to get sore if I stay in one position too long. I am sleeping better, but when I wake up I feel like such an old woman.
Highlights/ Exciting moments: Baby girl has been dancing all over this week. She is really  making her presence known. And we did our BRU registry this weekend (http://www.toysrus.com/registry/search/index.jsp?_flowExecutionKey=_cE09EACBD-0684-886E-F141-1B2C245DEC75_k56698343-5CF4-249B-6816-A763E90B1AD0&overrideStore=TRUS). We'll be doing BBB soon. AAAAND, we close on our house on Friday, eeeek!!
Complaints: Dry skin and being sore.

Wedding ring: Still on!

Here I am today at 20 weeks!

And here are the comparisons.. 8, 12, 16 & 20 weeks. I don't see a huge different between 16 & 20 weeks.

19 weeks!!

I am: 19 weeks! I can't believe that when I do this next time I'll be halfway there!!

Baby is the size of an: mango!

Ive gained: 4-5 pounds I guess.

Maternity Clothes: Pretty much all the time.

My mood: overwhelmed! Closing on the house got moved up three days, which doesnt seem like a lot, but it has put me in panic mode! It does give us an extra weekend to move which is great.

Gender: GIRL! Name coming soon if Darrell will give me the confirmation that he is 100% sure!

Cravings: Not too much this week.
What I'm missing: comfortable sleep :(
Highlights/ Exciting moments: Baby girl has been so active lately. I've even felt a couple of legitamite kicks!! Also, we ordered her nursery furniture this past week and plan on registering (or at least starting) this weekend. aaand, Alabama won another National Championship! Baby girl was having fun too, she must be a Bama fan already!
Complaints: I'm starting to get uncomfortabale.. when I sleep, when I sit too long, when I bend over.

Wedding ring: Still on!

No picture today, I'm feeling extra lazy.

Nursery progress

It was a successful day! Baby girl Gibbs now has a place to sleep (& other furniture for all of her fabulous clothes)! All three pieces will be the same white as the crib. As we were checking out the lady asked which mattress I wanted to order. Um, first time mom blonde moment... I hadn't even thought about that, but of course she needs a mattress!! Silly mommy! We still haven't decided on bedding, but I really want to get that done soon so we can decide on paint. We should be in the new house in three weeks (fingers crossed everything is finished and closing doesn't get held up) and the furniture should be here in eight weeks so I'd like to have the room painted before then. Aaah, what were we thinking building a house and baby at the same time? I guess it's better now rather then when she's just a few weeks or months old!!

So other than the bedding, we still need to pick a glider (again, waiting on a bedding decision so we can coordinate), register, and most importantly, give her a name!!!

18 weeks

I am: 18 weeks!

Baby is the size of an: a sweet potato...yummy!

Ive gained: 4 pounds as of my dr. appointment yesterday. That's 4 pounds total, not 4 more pounds since my last visit, and the nurse says "oh, must've been a good Christmas". ugh, I was pretty proud of my 4 pounds at 18 weeks.

Maternity Clothes: All maternity pants. I can still wear most of my shirts, but some of them are getting too short. I think I'll be completely switched over soon.

My mood: Emotional, irrational

Gender: baby GIRL!!! I'm starting to think her name will just be Junebug because a) we can't agree on anything except the middle name and b) everyone will call her that anyway.

Cravings: I wish I was craving anything. Lately, I don't want anything. I think I want something and 2 bites later I'm over it. It's getting frusturating.

What I'm missing: sangria. My friend had some at dinner last night and I was really jealous.

Highlights/ Exciting moments: I've been feeling her move around more and more.  I haven't felt distinct movements like kicks or anything, but more than flutters. It's almost like she's rolling around in there or something.

Complaints: My skin is still really dry and my teeth are getting sensitive. I have no idea if that's pregnancy related, I may just need to go to the dentist.

Wedding ring: Still on!
