We closed on our new house this morning!! This is what it looked like when we first saw it...
and this is what it looked like today.. finished! The sunny sky helps a little too :)
We heard nothing but how awful closing was going to be, but I have to say ours was smooth and easy. The only change that was made was done so over a week ago and that was to move our closing date up. We were originally set to close Monday, but because it's MLK and the banks are closed, we moved it up. I was stressing at first (yes, over 3 days) but it really worked out because we have an extra weekend and Monday to move and we'll be out of apartment much earlier than planned.
I do have to admit that we weren't exactly looking for this 'type' of house. We've never really been huge fans of siding or the cookie-cutter neighborhoods but there was something about this house and neighborhood that we love. I know what it was about the house... the floorplan, specifically the closet in the master! It's big and open and has everything on our "wanted" list (formal dining room, four bedrooms, upgraded appliances, double garage, etc etc). We never thought when we moved to Wilmington we'd be able to get so much house within our budget.
As you can see, we were a little excited. Well I was and made Darrell pose for this picture. He was too, but was just ready to get started moving and not stop for pictures. Oh well, I win!
Now it's time to start decorating. You'd think when you basically build a brand new house, it'd be all ready to go. But there's painting to do, a nursery to set up, furniture to buy to match my Pinterest inspired home (bahaha, we'll see how that turns out)!
